AW Store Locator vs ShopLocal Store Locatorfor Shopify (2026)
AW Store Locator and ShopLocal Store Locator both aim to help Shopify merchants display store locations on their websites, but they cater to different needs and operational styles. AW Store Locator emphasizes ease of use and customization directly within the app, appealing to merchants who want a straightforward solution with features like automatic location detection and map style customization. It seems particularly suited for businesses, possibly smaller ones, that want to manage their store locations individually within the app's interface. ShopLocal Store Locator, on the other hand, focuses on scalability and simplified management for businesses with numerous locations, especially those with wholesale operations. Its core value proposition is connecting the store locator to a Google Sheet, allowing merchants to manage location data in a familiar and flexible spreadsheet environment. This approach streamlines updates and additions, making it a more efficient solution for businesses with a large network of partners or dealers. The emphasis is less on built-in features and more on seamless integration with existing workflows. The key difference lies in how location data is managed: within the app (AW Store Locator) versus through Google Sheets (ShopLocal Store Locator). This dictates the primary target audience and the overall user experience.

Our Verdict
If you're a smaller business or dealer managing a relatively small number of locations and prefer a self-contained app with features like auto-detection and direct map styling, AW Store Locator might be the better choice, despite the slightly higher rating but more reviews. However, if you run a wholesale operation or have a large network of partners and need a scalable, efficient way to manage numerous locations, ShopLocal Store Locator is the clear winner. Its Google Sheets integration allows for bulk updates and simplified data management, saving time and reducing frustration.
The choice essentially boils down to convenience vs. scalability. For smaller operations wanting immediate map style control and simpler setup, AW Store Locator has an edge. For wholesale businesses needing to manage hundreds or thousands of locations efficiently, ShopLocal Store Locator is significantly more practical. Merchants should prioritize the data management model that best fits their business's structure.
