Awin ‑ Affiliate Marketing vs Simple Affiliatefor Shopify (2026)
Awin - Affiliate Marketing and Simple Affiliate both aim to help Shopify merchants leverage affiliate marketing to increase sales. However, they differ significantly in their approach and target audience. Awin focuses on connecting merchants with an existing network of promotional partners within the Awin ecosystem, offering real-time tracking and reporting of affiliate performance, transactions, and payments within that network. It aims to provide access to a large audience and simplified management of partners within the Awin ecosystem. Simple Affiliate, on the other hand, empowers merchants to build and manage their own affiliate program, providing tools for affiliate registration, commission management, and tax handling. It emphasizes customization, flexibility in reward structures, and the ability to turn existing customers into affiliates. The significant difference in user ratings (2.3/5 for Awin versus 5/5 for Simple Affiliate) suggests a divergence in user experience. Awin's emphasis on integration with its existing platform may introduce complexities for merchants not already familiar with Awin. In contrast, Simple Affiliate's focus on simplicity and customization appears to resonate more positively with users, as evidenced by its higher rating and greater number of reviews. The ideal choice depends on whether a merchant wants to tap into an established network (Awin) or build their own affiliate program (Simple Affiliate).

Our Verdict
Simple Affiliate is the better choice for most Shopify merchants in 2026, especially those prioritizing ease of use, customization, and building a loyal customer base. The significantly higher rating and larger number of reviews suggest a more positive user experience. Its features, such as automated tax handling and flexible reward structures, provide valuable tools for managing a growing affiliate program.
Awin ‑ Affiliate Marketing might be suitable for merchants specifically seeking to leverage the Awin network of affiliates. However, merchants should be aware of the lower rating and carefully consider whether the potential benefits of the Awin network outweigh the potential complexities and negative user experiences reported by other users. New merchants should also consider that Awin's features may require significant time to learn and implement.
