B2B Order Insurance vs SavedBy Package Protectionfor Shopify (2026)
B2B Order Insurance and SavedBy Package Protection offer distinct approaches to mitigating shipping-related risks for Shopify merchants. B2B Order Insurance focuses on enabling merchants to proactively defend against chargebacks by creating a visual record of their shipments. It empowers merchants to build a library of photographic evidence to dispute chargebacks, particularly international ones. SavedBy Package Protection, on the other hand, aims to transfer the risk of lost, stolen, or damaged packages to SavedBy itself. Customers are given the option to protect their package, and in case of an issue, SavedBy handles refunds or re-orders at their expense. The key difference lies in their strategies. B2B Order Insurance is a preventative and defensive tool aimed at helping merchants manage chargebacks, while SavedBy Package Protection provides a customer-facing insurance option that absorbs the financial impact of shipping problems. B2B Order Insurance caters to merchants who are confident in their fulfillment processes and want to proactively manage chargeback disputes. SavedBy Package Protection appeals to merchants who prioritize customer satisfaction and wish to avoid the costs and complexities associated with shipping issues, including customer support time and financial losses. It also provides a potential revenue boost by facilitating re-orders funded by SavedBy.

Our Verdict
If a merchant experiences frequent chargebacks, particularly on international orders, and wants to proactively build a case against them, B2B Order Insurance is a potentially valuable tool. It requires a more hands-on approach but gives the merchant direct control. However, the very limited review count is a concern. On the other hand, if a merchant's priority is providing a seamless customer experience, minimizing customer support costs related to shipping issues, and transferring the risk of lost or damaged packages, SavedBy Package Protection is a better fit. The higher review count lends more credibility to its claims.
Ultimately, the choice depends on the merchant's risk tolerance, customer service philosophy, and willingness to invest time in managing chargebacks versus outsourcing the responsibility to a third party like SavedBy. SavedBy is generally the safer recommendation due to the social proof, despite the similar ratings.
