Back In Stock | Stock Alert vs Hide Sold Out by Stock‑y‑phifor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, choosing between "Back In Stock | Stock Alert" and "Hide Sold Out by Stock‑y‑phi" for Shopify hinges on your immediate needs and risk tolerance. "Hide Sold Out by Stock‑y‑phi" positions itself as an automated solution for managing out-of-stock products, focusing on hiding and republishing them, plus offering redirection and multi-location inventory management. Its target audience seems to be merchants seeking a hands-off approach to stock management to avoid customer frustration and potential loss of sales from unavailable products. In contrast, "Back In Stock | Stock Alert," with no ratings or reviews, lacks a clear positioning and offers no data to suggest any strengths or a target audience. The primary difference is the availability of user feedback. "Hide Sold Out by Stock‑y‑phi" boasts a perfect 5/5 rating based on 40 reviews, indicating a generally positive user experience. Its features like scheduled hiding/publishing, multi-location support, smart redirects, and real-time notifications provide a comprehensive solution. The absence of reviews and a rating for "Back In Stock | Stock Alert" make it difficult to assess its functionality or reliability. Merchants considering the latter would be essentially beta-testing a product with no prior user validation.

Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants in 2026, "Hide Sold Out by Stock‑y‑phi" is the clear winner. Its proven track record (5/5 rating, 40 reviews), comprehensive features (automated hiding/publishing, redirects, multi-location support), and focus on ease of use make it a low-risk, high-potential solution for managing out-of-stock products. It's especially suitable for merchants with multiple locations or those who want to automate inventory management.
"Back In Stock | Stock Alert" could be considered only by merchants with a strong risk appetite and willingness to potentially encounter bugs or lack of support. If resources are extremely limited and a completely free (or very cheap) solution for basic back-in-stock alerts is needed, and the merchant has the time to test it thoroughly, it *might* be an option. However, the lack of reviews and information makes it difficult to recommend over the established and well-reviewed alternative.
