Bad Customer vs Subunofor Shopify (2026)
Bad Customer and Subuno both aim to reduce fraud and chargebacks for Shopify merchants, but they take drastically different approaches. Bad Customer focuses on a blacklist strategy, identifying customers with a history of chargebacks on other sites. This approach might appeal to merchants seeking a simple, direct solution to prevent repeat offenders. However, it relies heavily on the accuracy and comprehensiveness of its data source and may be less effective against new fraudulent activities. On the other hand, Subuno offers a more comprehensive rules-based fraud prevention platform, allowing merchants to customize and automate fraud checks based on various criteria and integrate with third-party data sources. Subuno's flexibility and advanced data analytics cater to merchants seeking granular control over their fraud prevention strategies. Its emphasis on customization and automation differentiates it from Bad Customer's more simplistic blacklist method. Bad Customer is probably targeting smaller merchants or those with limited technical expertise who want a quick and easy fraud solution, while Subuno targets larger businesses needing more sophisticated fraud management capabilities.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a simple, no-frills solution to avoid shipping to customers with a known history of chargebacks, Bad Customer might suffice. Its ease of use could be appealing to those with limited technical expertise or time to invest in configuring complex rules. However, its reliance on a blacklist makes it vulnerable to new fraudulent activities.
Subuno is better suited for merchants who require a more robust and customizable fraud prevention system. Its rules-based approach, third-party integrations, and advanced analytics offer greater control and flexibility in identifying and preventing fraudulent orders. While it might require a steeper learning curve and more configuration upfront, its comprehensive features make it a valuable investment for businesses looking to minimize chargebacks and protect their revenue.
