BAIS Bulk Account Invites Send vs miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSOfor Shopify (2026)
BAIS Bulk Account Invites Send and miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO, while both falling under the "Accounts and login" category on Shopify, address fundamentally different needs. BAIS focuses on simplifying account activation for existing and new customers using Shopify's built-in email templates. Its strength lies in bulk invitation and segmentation via tags, making it ideal for merchants wanting to quickly activate a large customer base or control which customers are invited. miniOrange, on the other hand, targets merchants requiring Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities, offering integrations with various Identity Providers (IdPs) like Azure AD, Okta, and more. Our Verdict
The choice between BAIS Bulk Account Invites Send and miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO depends entirely on the specific needs of the merchant. If the primary goal is to ensure that existing and new customers activate their Shopify accounts, especially for B2C stores, then BAIS is the clear choice, especially since it can easily use the existing Shopify account activation email template. However, if the merchant requires Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities for managing employee or B2B customer access through external Identity Providers (IdPs), then miniOrange is the more suitable option, particularly if they are using Shopify Plus or have multiple websites/platforms.
Common Questions
Does BAIS Bulk Account Invites Send support custom account creation flows?
No, BAIS leverages existing Shopify account activation mechanisms. It doesn't create custom account creation flows but rather utilizes existing email templates, including the option for custom HTML templates.
Can miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO be used for basic customer account creation?
While miniOrange can sync user data from the IDP, its primary focus is on SSO using existing IDP credentials, making it a powerful solution for B2B stores and complex integrations, not simple B2C account creation. The app is designed to work in conjunction with an Identity Provider to manage identities, not create them itself.
Is BAIS Bulk Account Invites Send suitable for B2B stores?
BAIS could be useful for B2B stores if they simply need to ensure customer accounts are activated. However, for advanced user management, access control, and Single Sign-On, miniOrange is the superior choice.
Does miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO support multi-factor authentication (MFA)?
miniOrange's support for MFA depends on the Identity Provider (IdP) being used. If the IdP supports MFA (e.g., Azure AD, Okta), miniOrange can leverage that functionality for Shopify store logins.
What if I just want a basic activation email for new accounts, not a bulk invite?
If you only need basic activation emails, you might not need BAIS at all. Shopify's built-in account activation emails may suffice. BAIS is primarily useful for bulk invitations and segmentation.
