Bazaarvoice Reviews & Photos vs TrustKit: Trust Badges & Iconsfor Shopify (2026)
Bazaarvoice Reviews & Photos and TrustKit: Trust Badges & Icons both aim to improve customer trust, but they approach it from different angles. Bazaarvoice focuses on leveraging user-generated content (UGC) like ratings, reviews, photos, and Q&A to build social proof and drive sales. It targets merchants looking to actively collect and manage UGC at scale, distributing it across their website, social media, and the Bazaarvoice network. TrustKit, on the other hand, centers on directly instilling confidence through trust badges and icons that highlight security and guarantees. It’s designed for merchants who want a simple, no-code solution to alleviate customer concerns about security and reliability during the purchasing process. The key distinction lies in their active versus passive approach to building trust. Bazaarvoice requires active effort to collect and manage UGC, while TrustKit provides immediate visual cues of security and reliability. Furthermore, Bazaarvoice is focused on improving the entire online presence of the store and generating traffic with user-generated content, while TrustKit is more focused on addressing cart abandonment and increasing customer confidence at the checkout level. The target audience also differs, with Bazaarvoice addressing merchants who seek scaling solutions for their businesses, while TrustKit targets merchants who need a simple and quick fix for their current issues.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing social proof and UGC to drive sales and enhance their social media presence, Bazaarvoice Reviews & Photos is the more comprehensive choice. However, the low rating and limited number of reviews raise concerns. A trial period would be essential to assess its effectiveness. On the other hand, for merchants primarily concerned with quickly addressing customer anxieties about security and trust during checkout, TrustKit: Trust Badges & Icons offers a simpler and more immediate solution. Despite the limited reviews, the perfect rating suggests a positive initial experience. It's ideal for merchants seeking a hassle-free way to boost confidence without requiring extensive UGC management.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
TrustKit is likely easier to set up and use due to its no-code customization and simple integration, while Bazaarvoice probably requires more effort to configure UGC collection and management.
Which app is more cost-effective for a small business?
Without pricing information, it's impossible to say definitively. However, TrustKit's simplicity might translate to a lower overall cost, as it requires less time and potentially less technical expertise to implement and maintain.
Which app helps increase sales?
Both apps aim to increase sales, but through different mechanisms. Bazaarvoice uses UGC to build trust and provide social proof, potentially driving more purchases. TrustKit aims to reduce cart abandonment by instilling confidence in security, also leading to increased sales.
What if I need both user reviews and trust badges?
Consider integrating both apps if budget and technical resources allow. Start with TrustKit for immediate trust building and then implement Bazaarvoice to collect and showcase UGC over time. Alternatively, look for an app that combines both features, but be wary of compromises in functionality or ease of use.
Which app is better for a brand new Shopify store with no existing reviews?
TrustKit might be the better initial choice. A brand-new store lacks existing reviews, making Bazaarvoice less immediately effective. Trust badges offer immediate visual cues of trustworthiness, which can be crucial for attracting early customers before reviews are collected.
