Beacon Fraud Prevention vs EB: Fraud Filter, Bot Blockerfor Shopify (2026)
Both Beacon Fraud Prevention and EB: Fraud Filter, Bot Blocker aim to protect Shopify merchants from fraudulent activities, but they approach the problem from different angles. Beacon Fraud Prevention positions itself as a highly customizable, data-driven system that analyzes various risk factors to identify and prevent fraudulent orders *before* they happen. It focuses on analyzing order data, tracking suspicious behaviors, and allowing merchants to fine-tune fraud filters. EB: Fraud Filter, Bot Blocker, on the other hand, focuses on *blocking* unwanted visitors and traffic based on criteria like location, IP address, email, and bot activity. It emphasizes preventing access to the store in the first place. The core difference lies in their methodology. Beacon proactively analyzes orders and offers more granular control over fraud parameters. EB: Fraud Filter takes a more reactive approach by blocking potentially harmful traffic upfront. While both apps have similar high ratings, EB: Fraud Filter has a slightly larger number of reviews, suggesting potentially broader adoption, or it has been around longer. Merchants should choose the app that best aligns with their preferred method of fraud prevention – proactive analysis vs. preventative blocking.
