BEAST Currency Converter vs Currency Converter Plusfor Shopify (2026)
BEAST Currency Converter and Currency Converter Plus both address the need for multi-currency support on Shopify stores, but they target different merchant segments. BEAST Currency Converter emphasizes ease of use and immediate implementation, advertising that it 'works out of the box' with any theme and adds currencies with a single click. Its focus is on simplicity and quick results for merchants who want a basic, functional currency converter. This is reflected in its automatic placement in the header and location-based conversion. However, its limitations regarding checkout page conversion (a Shopify limitation) are addressed with workarounds, potentially impacting user experience. Currency Converter Plus, on the other hand, positions itself as a 'professional solution' with a strong emphasis on configuration and advanced features. This includes minute-by-minute exchange rate updates, compatibility with Shopify Markets, support for 222 currencies (including cryptocurrencies and precious metals), and advanced IP geolocation. While BEAST highlights simplicity, Currency Converter Plus is targeting merchants who require granular control, stability, and a high degree of customizability in their currency conversion solution. The higher rating and focus on configuration options suggest it prioritizes comprehensive functionality and accuracy at the cost of initial setup complexity.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing a quick and easy setup with basic currency conversion functionality, BEAST Currency Converter is likely the better choice. It's designed for merchants who want a simple solution without extensive configuration options. However, merchants managing complex international operations with Shopify Markets, or those requiring support for niche currencies and high accuracy through frequent exchange rate updates, Currency Converter Plus is the stronger option. Its advanced features and customization options cater to businesses with more sophisticated currency conversion needs. The 5/5 rating, despite the lower review count, suggests high user satisfaction among its target audience, indicating its specialized features justify a slightly steeper learning curve.
