BeSure Checkout Rules vs Checkout Pulse by PDQfor Shopify (2026)
BeSure Checkout Rules and Checkout Pulse by PDQ both aim to improve the Shopify checkout experience but tackle different aspects. BeSure Checkout Rules focuses on direct checkout customization, enabling merchants to control the presentation and functionality of the checkout page itself through rules based on various conditions. This allows for tailored experiences to increase conversion by removing friction and streamlining the process for customers. Checkout Pulse by PDQ, on the other hand, centers on real-time monitoring and analytics of the checkout flow. It aims to provide merchants with immediate insights into performance, identifying bottlenecks, errors, and drop-off points. The app utilizes Slack alerts to notify teams of issues promptly. While BeSure proactively shapes the checkout experience, Checkout Pulse reacts to it, focusing on diagnostics and optimization based on gathered data. The ideal user of Checkout Pulse is therefore a merchant focused on rapid iteration based on performance analytics. The fundamental difference lies in *action* versus *observation*: BeSure *acts* on the checkout page, changing it; Checkout Pulse *observes* the checkout page, analyzing it.

Our Verdict
If you're looking to directly influence the checkout experience with specific rules and conditions to optimize for conversions by hiding and reorganizing payment/shipping options or offering conditional discounts, BeSure Checkout Rules is the choice for you. This is well-suited for merchants with a solid understanding of their customer base and clear ideas about what changes will drive improvements.
However, if you're more interested in understanding the current performance of your checkout process, identifying bottlenecks, and being alerted to issues as they arise, Checkout Pulse by PDQ is the better option. This suits data-driven merchants who want to quickly respond to and fix problems hindering conversions and improve checkout flows based on observed data, particularly those integrated with Slack for rapid response.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the descriptions, Checkout Pulse by PDQ is likely easier to set up due to its 'seamless Shopify-native integration.' BeSure Checkout Rules, with its focus on rule-based customization, might require more initial configuration.
Which app is better for a high-volume store?
Both apps could be beneficial for high-volume stores. BeSure Checkout Rules can help streamline the checkout process, reducing friction. Checkout Pulse by PDQ is critical for identifying and resolving checkout issues rapidly, preventing significant revenue loss from frequent transactions.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Yes, theoretically, you could use both. BeSure Checkout Rules would actively shape the checkout, while Checkout Pulse by PDQ would monitor its performance. However, complex interactions might occur, requiring careful monitoring and configuration to avoid unintended consequences.
Which app offers more long-term value?
This depends on the merchant's strategy. BeSure offers long-term value if the merchant has defined personalization tactics, but if the market/customer shifts and sales begin to drop due to a checkout issue that BeSure cannot identify, Checkout Pulse would have more long-term value due to monitoring performance and identifying issues in the checkout flow.
Does either app directly improve SEO?
Neither app directly addresses SEO. They focus on the checkout experience, which can indirectly impact conversion rates, a factor that search engines consider (though it's indirect).
