BI: Payment & Checkout Upsell vs Try with Mirra Before You Buyfor Shopify (2026)
BI: Payment & Checkout Upsell and Try with Mirra Before You Buy represent drastically different approaches to optimizing the Shopify checkout experience. BI: Payment & Checkout Upsell focuses on maximizing average order value and customizing the checkout process through rule-based logic applied to payment and shipping options, and checkout upsells. Its core value proposition lies in providing merchants with granular control over checkout flows to boost revenue. In contrast, Try with Mirra Before You Buy aims to increase conversions and order sizes by offering a 'try before you buy' option, primarily targeted at fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands. This app emphasizes reducing customer risk and simplifying returns to encourage purchases, especially from new customers. The key distinction lies in their strategic focus. BI: Payment & Checkout Upsell is geared towards optimizing existing checkout flows and maximizing revenue through upselling and customized payment/shipping options. Try with Mirra Before You Buy directly addresses customer hesitations by allowing product trials before purchase. While both apps share a 'Payment options - Other' category on Shopify, they cater to distinct merchant needs and customer preferences. The former requires a strategic understanding of checkout optimization and a willingness to configure complex rules, whereas the latter is more about trust-building and providing a unique purchase option. The user reviews present a very large difference, and any choice here must take that into account.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants primarily focused on optimizing their existing checkout process, implementing strategic upsells, and customizing payment and shipping options with fine-grained control, BI: Payment & Checkout Upsell *might* be worth exploring *if* the lack of reviews is addressed. However, given the zero rating and zero reviews, it's a significant risk without further validation. The upside is more control, but the downside is considerable uncertainty.
Try with Mirra Before You Buy is a clear winner for fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands aiming to boost conversions and cater to customers hesitant to purchase online without trying products first. The positive reviews, coupled with the try-before-you-buy model, a focus on returns, and dedicated support, make it a significantly more compelling option. The risk of a negative rating is very low. Unless the first app resolves its zero rating, this app is the clear winner.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Based on the descriptions, Try with Mirra Before You Buy is likely easier to use. BI: Payment & Checkout Upsell relies on a rule-based system, which can be complex to configure. Mirra offers a more streamlined 'try before you buy' flow and focuses more on customer-facing features, likely resulting in a simpler merchant setup process.
Which app is better for increasing average order value (AOV)?
While both apps *aim* to increase AOV, they do so through different means. BI: Payment & Checkout Upsell directly targets AOV by enabling checkout upsells. Try with Mirra Before You Buy aims to increase order size indirectly by encouraging new customers to purchase and potentially purchase more items, knowing they can return those that don't fit.
Which app is more suitable for a brand new Shopify store?
Try with Mirra Before You Buy is likely more suitable for a brand new store. Building trust with new customers is crucial, and the 'try before you buy' model can significantly reduce purchase hesitation. BI: Payment & Checkout Upsell is more suited for stores with established traffic and sales data to effectively implement rule-based optimizations.
Which app provides better customer support?
Try with Mirra Before You Buy explicitly states '24/7 support and comprehensive marketing materials.' BI: Payment & Checkout Upsell does not mention customer support in its description, making Mirra the clear winner in this category.
Which app is more risky to install?
BI: Payment & Checkout Upsell is far more risky to install given its 0/5 rating and zero reviews. The absence of any user feedback raises serious concerns about the app's functionality, reliability, and potential impact on the store. Try with Mirra Before You Buy, with its perfect rating and multiple reviews, presents a significantly lower risk.
