BIG Digital Downloads Products vs Checkout Ampliadofor Shopify (2026)
BIG Digital Downloads Products and Checkout Ampliado address fundamentally different needs within the Shopify ecosystem. BIG Digital Downloads Products focuses on enabling merchants to sell digital goods, offering features like unlimited storage, download limits, license key management, and even PDF stamping. Its strength lies in its comprehensive suite of tools specifically designed for digital product sales, aiming to be a robust alternative to platforms like WeTransfer or Etsy for digital assets. It boasts high ratings and a substantial user base, suggesting strong satisfaction and reliability. Checkout Ampliado, on the other hand, concentrates on optimizing the checkout process itself. Its features center around enhancing the customer experience through payment method discounts, address validation via CEP (presumably for the Brazilian market), and improved data management during the checkout. While its rating is still positive, the extremely small number of reviews compared to BIG Digital Downloads Products suggests it's a much newer or niche app. It targets merchants seeking to improve checkout conversion rates and personalize the buying experience, particularly those needing location-specific address validation.

Our Verdict
The choice between BIG Digital Downloads Products and Checkout Ampliado depends entirely on the merchant's primary need. If a merchant is selling or plans to sell digital products, BIG Digital Downloads Products is the clear winner. Its robust features, unlimited storage, and strong user reviews make it a reliable solution for managing digital sales. The large number of reviews gives confidence in its stability and feature set.
Checkout Ampliado, while potentially useful for checkout optimization, currently lacks sufficient user reviews to establish its reliability compared to BIG Digital Downloads Products. If address validation and payment method discounts are crucial for a business (especially within Brazil, given the CEP functionality), it might be worth exploring. However, proceed with caution due to the limited social proof. Consider a thorough trial period before committing.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Without hands-on experience, it's hard to say definitively. However, BIG Digital Downloads Products' high rating and large user base suggest a relatively user-friendly interface. Checkout Ampliado, with its fewer users, has less data to infer ease of use.
Which app provides more value for money?
This depends on the pricing of each app, which wasn't provided. If both apps offer similar pricing tiers, BIG Digital Downloads Products likely provides more value for merchants selling digital goods, given its comprehensive feature set and proven track record.
Can these apps be used together?
Potentially. BIG Digital Downloads Products handles digital product delivery *after* the checkout process, while Checkout Ampliado optimizes the checkout *itself*. They could theoretically coexist, but whether they truly complement each other depends on the specific features used and how well they integrate with the overall Shopify store theme and other apps.
Is Checkout Ampliado only for Brazilian stores?
While not explicitly stated, the CEP (Código de Endereçamento Postal) functionality strongly suggests a focus on the Brazilian market. Merchants outside of Brazil should carefully evaluate if its address validation features are relevant to their needs.
Which app is more established?
BIG Digital Downloads Products is significantly more established, evidenced by its 600 reviews compared to Checkout Ampliado's 5 reviews. This indicates a longer history in the Shopify App Store and a larger user base.
