BIG Digital Downloads Products vs Ordertracker ‑ Track & Upsellfor Shopify (2026)
BIG Digital Downloads Products and Ordertracker are Shopify apps addressing fundamentally different aspects of e-commerce. BIG Digital Downloads Products is designed for merchants selling digital goods, providing features for managing digital files, license keys, and download limits. Its core strength lies in enabling the sale of digital assets directly through Shopify, offering an alternative to platforms like WeTransfer or Etsy for digital product delivery. It aims to facilitate a streamlined digital product sales process. Ordertracker, on the other hand, caters to merchants selling physical products. It focuses on enhancing the post-purchase customer experience by providing order tracking functionality and status notifications. Its primary strength is improving transparency in the shipping process and potentially increasing customer satisfaction with delivery updates. BIG Digital Downloads Products targets merchants who need to sell and deliver digital products efficiently, handling aspects like secure file delivery and license key management. Ordertracker serves merchants shipping physical goods and wanting to provide better order tracking for their customers, especially those shipping from China and needing to mask specific tracking events or details during customs clearance. The apps cater to different needs and have little functional overlap, therefore they are complementary rather than competitive in many scenarios.
