BIG Digital Downloads Products vs RetroOrder: Edit Ordersfor Shopify (2026)
BIG Digital Downloads Products and RetroOrder: Edit Orders target vastly different Shopify merchant needs. BIG Digital Downloads Products focuses on enabling merchants to sell digital goods directly through their Shopify store, positioning itself as an alternative to external file-sharing services and marketplaces. Its strength lies in its robust digital product delivery system, offering unlimited storage, flexible download options, and license key management. RetroOrder, on the other hand, addresses order management challenges. It enables merchants to edit order dates and empower customers to modify their shipping addresses post-checkout, thereby reducing support requests and streamlining order fulfillment processes. The primary distinction lies in their core functionality. BIG Digital Downloads Products is for businesses selling digital assets, while RetroOrder is for businesses needing greater control over order date management and customer address updates. BIG Digital Downloads Products has significant social proof with a perfect rating based on hundreds of reviews while RetroOrder currently has no ratings or reviews, which may indicate a brand-new app or one with limited adoption. This large disparity in reviews should heavily sway any merchant's decision.

Our Verdict
For merchants focused on selling digital products, BIG Digital Downloads Products is the clear choice. Its high rating and numerous positive reviews suggest a reliable and effective solution for managing and delivering digital goods. The feature set is comprehensive for this purpose. RetroOrder: Edit Orders could potentially be helpful for merchants struggling with order date discrepancies and customer address errors but its current lack of ratings and reviews makes it a riskier choice. Merchants should carefully weigh the potential benefits against the lack of social proof before installing.
Ultimately, the best app depends on the merchant's specific needs. If selling digital downloads is the priority, BIG Digital Downloads Products is the better option. If order management and customer address modification are the main concerns, and the merchant is willing to beta-test, RetroOrder could be considered, but with caution.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Based on the descriptions, both apps aim for ease of use. However, without user reviews for RetroOrder, it's difficult to assess its actual usability. BIG Digital Downloads Products, with its established user base, likely has a more refined and user-friendly interface based on user feedback.
Does RetroOrder provide storage for digital files?
No, RetroOrder does not provide any storage. It is for editing order dates and allowing customers to change shipping addresses, and has nothing to do with file storage.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Yes, it is possible to use both apps simultaneously, as they address different aspects of a Shopify store's operation. BIG Digital Downloads Products handles digital product delivery, while RetroOrder manages order dates and shipping addresses. There is no inherent conflict between the two.
Which app offers better customer support?
Both apps claim to offer reliable and friendly support. RetroOrder specifically highlights this as a feature.
