Our Verdict
The choice between BIG Digital Downloads Products and ShipMaxx depends entirely on the nature of your business. If you're selling digital goods, BIG Digital Downloads is the clear winner. It provides the necessary tools for secure and efficient delivery of your products. The high rating and significant number of positive reviews further solidify its reliability. Conversely, if you're selling physical products and struggling with shipping and order management, ShipMaxx aims to provide a solution. However, the complete lack of reviews and a 0/5 rating in 2026 suggest that merchants should approach with caution and thoroughly investigate its capabilities before committing.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the descriptions, BIG Digital Downloads, with its focus on 1-click uploads, seems simpler to set up for digital products. ShipMaxx, integrating across platforms and carriers, likely has a steeper initial setup curve.
Does either app offer a free trial?
The descriptions do not specify free trials for either app. Merchants would need to check the Shopify App Store listings for that information.
Which app is better for a dropshipping business?
Neither app directly mentions supporting dropshipping. However, ShipMaxx's order management and shipping features might be adaptable for a dropshipping model, although further research would be needed.
Can I use both apps together?
It is unlikely that both apps can be used in conjunction. As they manage fundamentally different aspects of the business (Digital Downloads vs Shipping), their functionality is not designed to overlap. However, an app to sell digital download instructions for physical products to be shipped could find benefit in both but it's an edge case.
Which app is more established?
BIG Digital Downloads Products is clearly the more established app, based on its high rating and substantial number of reviews. ShipMaxx, with no reviews, appears to be a new or less popular option.
