BigBuy ‑ Dropshipping carriers vs Calcurates: Accurate Shippingfor Shopify (2026)
BigBuy ‑ Dropshipping carriers and Calcurates: Accurate Shipping both aim to provide accurate shipping rates for Shopify merchants, but they cater to vastly different needs and operate on fundamentally different models. BigBuy focuses on merchants using the BigBuy dropshipping platform, offering automatic shipping cost calculation tied directly to their product database and supported carriers. Its value proposition is simplicity and automation *within the BigBuy ecosystem*. Calcurates, on the other hand, is a comprehensive shipping rate calculator for merchants who want granular control over their shipping costs, supporting a wider range of carriers and offering advanced features like table rates, shipping rules, and estimated delivery dates. The core difference lies in their flexibility and target audience. BigBuy is essentially a plug-and-play solution for BigBuy users, prioritizing ease of use at the expense of customization. Calcurates requires more setup and configuration but offers significantly more power and control, making it suitable for merchants with complex shipping needs or those wanting to optimize their shipping strategy beyond basic carrier rates. A major differentiator is that BigBuy's functionality is limited to products listed within the BigBuy database, severely restricting its applicability for stores selling products sourced elsewhere.

Our Verdict
For merchants exclusively using BigBuy's dropshipping platform, BigBuy ‑ Dropshipping carriers provides a simple, automated solution for calculating shipping costs. However, the low rating and limited scope should be serious concerns. Calcurates: Accurate Shipping is the superior choice for the vast majority of Shopify merchants. Its higher rating, more extensive features, and broader carrier support offer significantly more value and control over shipping costs. Even though it requires more configuration, the investment is worthwhile for any business serious about optimizing its shipping strategy and providing accurate rates to customers.
For the vast majority of Shopify merchants who are *not* exclusively using the BigBuy platform, Calcurates is the clear winner. Its richer feature set, positive reviews, and robust customization options make it a far more valuable and versatile tool for managing shipping rates and providing a better customer experience.
