BigBuy ‑ Dropshipping carriers vs xConnectorfor Shopify (2026)
BigBuy ‑ Dropshipping carriers and xConnector are both Shopify apps that address shipping needs, but they cater to distinct merchant profiles and offer vastly different feature sets. BigBuy focuses specifically on calculating shipping costs directly within the cart, pulling data from BigBuy's product database and providing real-time synchronization with major international couriers. This makes it a niche solution tailored to dropshippers using the BigBuy platform. In contrast, xConnector is a more comprehensive fulfillment solution aimed at merchants who require tools for label creation, invoicing, return management, and advanced features like a collect points widget and mobile app support for picking and packing. xConnector supports calculated rates and integrations with a wider array of localized couriers and invoicing services. The fundamental difference lies in their scope and purpose. BigBuy is a specialized shipping cost calculator for BigBuy dropshippers, whereas xConnector is a broader fulfillment management platform suitable for businesses needing to streamline their order processing and shipping workflows with local and regional courier services. The user reviews reflect this difference, with BigBuy having a very low rating and few reviews, suggesting potential issues with its functionality or limited appeal, while xConnector boasts a perfect rating with a significantly higher number of reviews, indicating greater user satisfaction and wider adoption.

Our Verdict
For dropshippers exclusively using the BigBuy platform, BigBuy ‑ Dropshipping carriers may seem like a convenient option for automating shipping cost calculations within the cart. However, the significantly low rating raises concerns about its reliability and performance. For most Shopify merchants requiring robust fulfillment and shipping label creation tools, along with return management capabilities, and integration with local and regional couriers, xConnector is the clear winner. Its high rating and comprehensive feature set suggest a much more reliable and versatile solution.
Given the considerable disparity in user ratings and the limited scope of BigBuy, xConnector is the recommended app for the vast majority of Shopify merchants. The mobile app, return request module, and broader courier support offer significantly greater value compared to BigBuy's limited functionality and potential reliability issues.
Common Questions
Is BigBuy ‑ Dropshipping carriers suitable for merchants not using the BigBuy platform?
No. The app's functionality is explicitly limited to products listed in the BigBuy database. Merchants selling products from other sources will not benefit from using this app.
Does xConnector support international shipping?
Yes, xConnector supports international shipping through its integration with various couriers. The extent of international coverage depends on the specific couriers selected and their service areas.
Which app is easier to set up?
While both apps require setup, BigBuy likely has a simpler initial setup due to its focused functionality. However, xConnector's comprehensive features may require a more involved configuration process to fully utilize all its capabilities.
Which app is more affordable?
Pricing information is not provided in the descriptions, so it's impossible to definitively say which app is more affordable. Merchants should investigate the pricing plans of both apps before making a decision.
Can xConnector replace BigBuy for BigBuy dropshippers?
Potentially, xConnector offers calculated rates which might be configurable to align with BigBuy's pricing. However, this would require manual configuration and might not offer the same level of automation as BigBuy's app. BigBuy's app claims automatic shipping costs for BigBuy's products, which is a key benefit for dropshippers on that platform.
