Billbee vs Customs Buddyfor Shopify (2026)
Billbee and Customs Buddy, while both falling under the 'Orders' and 'Invoices and receipts' Shopify categories, serve distinctly different purposes and cater to different merchant needs. Billbee is positioned as an all-in-one multichannel order management solution primarily aimed at small and medium-sized businesses in the German and Austrian markets. Its strength lies in its broad feature set, encompassing order management, inventory synchronization, automated document creation, and workflow automation. Customs Buddy, on the other hand, focuses exclusively on simplifying customs clearance through automated commercial invoice generation. Customs Buddy's target audience is merchants selling products internationally who need to ensure accurate and compliant commercial invoices. Its strength lies in its specialization and ease of use, particularly its integration with Shopify Flow for a plug-and-play experience. While Billbee offers a wider range of features, it's also more complex and potentially overwhelming for merchants with a singular focus on international shipping compliance. The limited geographic focus of Billbee is a significant consideration for merchants outside of Germany and Austria. Customs Buddy may be more suitable for merchants looking to expand internationally or streamline their existing international order fulfillment processes.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily selling within Germany and Austria and requiring a comprehensive order management solution, Billbee might be the more suitable option, despite its lower rating. Its features address a wider range of needs, including inventory synchronization and document creation. However, for merchants focused on international sales and specifically needing to streamline their customs clearance process, Customs Buddy is the clear winner. Its higher rating, specialized focus on commercial invoices, and integration with Shopify Flow make it a more efficient and user-friendly solution for this specific use case. Merchants outside of Germany/Austria should strongly consider Customs Buddy.
Common Questions

If I only sell within my own country, which app is better?
