Billbee vs Filey ‑ Files Backup & Exportfor Shopify (2026)
Billbee and Filey ‑ Files Backup & Export, while sharing the 'Selling online' and 'Store data importer' Shopify categories, cater to vastly different needs. Billbee is an all-in-one multichannel order management solution aimed at small and medium-sized businesses, particularly those in Germany and Austria. It focuses on simplifying order processing, inventory synchronization, and document automation across various sales channels. Filey, on the other hand, is specifically designed for data backup and transfer of files stored in the Shopify "Content -> Files" section. It prioritizes ease of use in exporting and importing store files, product images, and videos, simplifying store migration or data archival. The crucial difference lies in their core functionality. Billbee streamlines operational workflows related to order management and sales, integrating with numerous platforms and services. Filey focuses exclusively on file management, providing a simple solution for backing up and transferring store data. While Billbee boasts a broader feature set, its lower rating (3.6/5) and fewer reviews (43) compared to Filey (4.9/5 with 192 reviews) suggests potential usability or support issues, especially for merchants outside its target geographic region. Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a comprehensive solution to manage orders, inventory, and shipping across multiple sales channels, Billbee might seem appealing, *especially* if the business is located in Germany or Austria. However, the lower rating and limited reviews should be carefully considered. For merchants primarily concerned with safeguarding their store files (images, videos, 3D models) or simplifying store migration, Filey ‑ Files Backup & Export is the clear winner. Its high rating, positive reviews, and specific focus on file management make it a reliable choice for this particular task.
Ultimately, the choice depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If the need is holistic order management and the business is German/Austrian, carefully vet Billbee. If the need is to easily backup or transfer files, Filey is the better, more straightforward, and demonstrably reliable option.
