bitChat: WhatsApp AI Chatbot vs Hosted Emailfor Shopify (2026)
bitChat: WhatsApp AI Chatbot and Hosted Email both fall under the Shopify 'Helpdesk' category, but cater to drastically different needs. bitChat is designed to automate customer interaction and sales through popular messaging platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. Its strength lies in its 24/7 AI agent that handles FAQs, product recommendations, cart building, and checkout link generation, targeting merchants aiming to improve customer support responsiveness and drive sales directly through messaging. Hosted Email, on the other hand, focuses on enhancing brand credibility by providing businesses with professional email addresses using their own domain. It aims to solve the issue of using generic free email services, which can negatively impact customer trust. Hosted Email's features revolve around providing a secure and professional email hosting service with staff control and spam protection. This caters to merchants concerned about brand image and seeking reliable email communication. The primary divergence is that bitChat prioritizes automated sales and support via messaging channels, while Hosted Email prioritizes professional email communication to foster trust and credibility.
