BL Bulk Product Image Uploader vs Selling Pointfor Shopify (2026)
BL Bulk Product Image Uploader and Selling Point, while both categorized as 'Store data importer' apps on Shopify, cater to drastically different merchant needs. BL Bulk Product Image Uploader aims to simplify and expedite the process of uploading product images in bulk by matching file names to SKUs, IDs, or handles. This addresses a very specific pain point related to product catalog management. On the other hand, Selling Point focuses on the migration of Gift Cards and Store Credits from external systems to Shopify, streamlining the transition for merchants switching platforms or consolidating their operations. The fundamental difference lies in their core functionality and target audience. BL Bulk Product Image Uploader targets merchants struggling with efficient product image management, promising time savings and reduced manual errors. Selling Point, conversely, targets merchants transitioning to Shopify from other platforms or consolidating multiple sales channels and requiring a seamless gift card/store credit migration solution. The stark difference in ratings and reviews (0/5 with 0 reviews vs. 5/5 with 45 reviews) indicates a significant difference in user experience and perceived value, although it's important to note that BL Bulk Product Image Uploader may be a very new app.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with streamlining product image management, BL Bulk Product Image Uploader appears promising, *assuming* it delivers on its claims of easy one-click bulk uploads. However, the lack of reviews is a significant risk factor. If efficient image management is crucial and time is of the essence, it *might* be worth trying, but with caution and a keen eye on whether it performs as advertised.
Selling Point, on the other hand, is clearly the superior choice for merchants needing to migrate Gift Cards and Store Credits to Shopify. Its high rating and numerous positive reviews strongly suggest a reliable and effective solution. If you're switching platforms or consolidating sales channels, Selling Point is the recommended app.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Based on their descriptions, both apps aim for ease of use. However, the lack of reviews for BL Bulk Product Image Uploader makes it difficult to determine its actual ease of use. Selling Point's description emphasizes a quick and easy migration process, supported by positive reviews.
Which app saves more time?
BL Bulk Product Image Uploader saves time by automating product image uploading. Selling Point saves time by automating gift card and store credit migration, which would otherwise be a manual or developer-dependent task. The time saved depends on the specific volume of images or gift cards/credits being managed.
Does BL Bulk Product Image Uploader migrate Gift Cards like Selling Point?
No, BL Bulk Product Image Uploader is specifically designed for uploading product images and does not offer any gift card or store credit migration functionality.
Which app is suitable for a new Shopify store?
For a brand-new Shopify store with no existing gift cards or store credits to migrate, BL Bulk Product Image Uploader may be more immediately relevant if there's a need to quickly populate the product catalog with images. However, the lack of reviews should give pause. Selling Point would only be useful to a new store if the owner is migrating from another platform and has existing gift card balances to transfer.
What happens if my image filenames don't match the product SKUs/IDs?
BL Bulk Product Image Uploader relies on the filename matching the product SKU, ID, or handle. If there's no match, the image will not be automatically assigned to the product. You would need to manually assign the image in that case, defeating the purpose of the app's bulk upload functionality. This highlights the importance of careful file naming.
