BL External Links Button vs RecomSale: Affiliate Marketingfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, Shopify merchants choosing between BL External Links Button and RecomSale: Affiliate Marketing face a classic dilemma: high initial ratings versus established reliability. BL External Links Button boasts a perfect 5/5 rating, but this is based on a very small sample size of only 9 reviews. This suggests potential for a great app, but also higher risk. RecomSale: Affiliate Marketing, on the other hand, has a near-perfect 4.9/5 rating derived from a much larger pool of 255 reviews, indicating greater stability and a well-tested product. The limited information suggests BL External Links Button focuses on enabling external links, potentially simplifying a specific need. RecomSale: Affiliate Marketing, as its name implies, is a fully fledged affiliate marketing solution designed for managing and tracking affiliate programs. Therefore, BL External Links Button is for merchants needing a very basic feature to add external links, while RecomSale is for building and managing a dedicated affiliate program. Because both apps exist in the 'Affiliate programs' category, it implies that BL External Links Button functionality might complement an existing affiliate program, or provide a limited-functionality alternative for smaller merchants. However, the core functionality of RecomSale will revolve around comprehensive affiliate management.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants seeking a simple and quick way to add external links, especially those with limited technical skills or budget and very basic needs, BL External Links Button might suffice, bearing in mind the small review count. However, due to the limited data available, using this app comes with inherent risk.
For merchants serious about building and managing a robust affiliate marketing program, RecomSale: Affiliate Marketing is the safer and more complete choice. Its higher review count and targeted functionality suggest a mature and well-supported solution. The slightly lower rating is offset by the significantly greater number of users providing feedback, making it the more reliable option for serious affiliate marketers.
