Blackcart ‑ Try Before You Buy vs Rekitr Subscriptions Appfor Shopify (2026)
Blackcart ‑ Try Before You Buy and Rekitr Subscriptions App both appear to be high-quality apps, each boasting a perfect 5/5 rating. However, their functionalities and target audiences are vastly different. Blackcart focuses on providing a "Try Before You Buy" payment option, catering to merchants seeking to reduce purchase hesitation and increase conversion rates by allowing customers to sample products before committing. Rekitr, on the other hand, is a full-fledged subscription management app, designed for businesses looking to establish recurring revenue streams and enhance customer retention through flexible subscription models. The key distinction lies in their core offering. Rekitr offers robust features for managing subscriptions, including Build-a-Box, flexible billing plans (prepaid/pay-as-you-go), customizable widgets, and automated billing and alerts. It also emphasizes ease of integration with any Shopify theme and supports multiple languages, appealing to a broader international merchant base. Blackcart's single rating, despite being perfect, provides limited confidence compared to Rekitr's four ratings. The 'Try Before You Buy' model will appeal to specific products where testing is a key value for the consumer. The volume of reviews also becomes a factor. While both have a 5-star rating, Rekitr's rating is based on four reviews, while Blackcart's rating only has one review. More ratings indicates higher usage and confidence. For merchants seeking a way to offer subscriptions to boost retention, Rekitr appears to be the clear choice. Blackcart may still be a valuable tool if merchants are looking to allow customers to experience products before purchase, thereby increasing conversion rates.

Our Verdict
Rekitr Subscriptions App is the better choice for merchants actively looking to implement subscription services and manage recurring revenue. Its feature set is explicitly designed for this purpose, including Build-a-Box functionality, flexible plans, and robust automation. The four 5-star reviews increase confidence in the product. Rekitr offers a more comprehensive solution for businesses serious about subscriptions.
Blackcart ‑ Try Before You Buy caters to a different, niche audience. If the primary goal is to let customers experience products before committing to a full purchase, reducing purchase anxiety and potentially increasing conversion rates, then Blackcart is worth considering. However, the single review makes it difficult to objectively assess its reliability and effectiveness compared to the more established Rekitr.
