Blanka Makeup Beauty Cosmetics vs Clay: B2B Wholesale Pricingfor Shopify (2026)
Blanka Makeup Beauty Cosmetics and Clay: B2B Wholesale Pricing serve entirely different purposes on the Shopify platform, although they both fall under the umbrella of 'Sourcing options' and 'Wholesale' in the Shopify app store. Blanka focuses on enabling merchants to rapidly create and dropship their own private label beauty, cosmetic, and skincare lines. Its strength lies in its low barrier to entry, offering no minimum order quantities (MOQ) and automated dropshipping. Conversely, Clay is geared toward merchants already selling wholesale who want to offer tiered or custom pricing to their B2B customers, optimizing for larger-volume sales. The fundamental difference lies in Blanka being a product sourcing solution and Clay being a pricing and sales optimization tool.

Our Verdict
The choice between Blanka and Clay is straightforward and depends on the merchant's business model. Blanka is ideal for entrepreneurs looking to enter the beauty and cosmetics market with their own branded products via dropshipping, particularly those who value ease of launch and low upfront investment. Clay, on the other hand, is suitable for established businesses already engaged in wholesale and seeking to optimize their pricing strategies for B2B customers. If a merchant's goal is to create and sell their own beauty line, Blanka is the clear choice. If a merchant already sells products wholesale and needs advanced B2B pricing, Clay is the better option.
Common Questions
Can I use both Blanka and Clay together?
Technically possible, but unlikely to be beneficial. Blanka focuses on product sourcing and dropshipping, while Clay is about pricing optimization for existing wholesale operations. If you source products through Blanka and then sell them wholesale, Clay could be used for the wholesale side of your business. However, given that Blanka's strength lies in dropshipping, this is an uncommon scenario.
Which app is easier to use?
Blanka is positioned as exceptionally easy to use, claiming a 5-minute setup for a private label line. Clay's ease of use is dependent on the complexity of the desired B2B pricing strategy. If simple tiered pricing is needed, Clay is likely relatively straightforward. For more complex, custom pricing, the initial setup might require more effort.
Which app offers better profit margins?
Profit margins depend heavily on pricing strategy and market conditions, not the apps themselves. Blanka facilitates sourcing and dropshipping, which comes with its own cost structure. Clay helps optimize wholesale pricing, potentially increasing overall revenue and profit. Neither app inherently guarantees better margins.
What kind of support does each app offer?
Blanka highlights 'Priority Chat & Email Support,' suggesting responsive assistance in building your brand. Clay's description does not explicitly mention support details, so that's something a merchant should research further.
Which app is better for beginners?
Blanka is likely better for beginners because of its focus on ease of use, no MOQs, and dropshipping. Clay assumes you already have a wholesale operation, which implies some existing business acumen.
