Blink | Hide out of stock vs ST: Product & Collection Sortfor Shopify (2026)
Blink | Hide out of stock focuses on improving the customer experience by automatically hiding sold-out products and republishing them when restocked. Its core value proposition is preventing customer frustration and potentially lost sales caused by viewing unavailable items. In contrast, ST: Product & Collection Sort takes a broader merchandising approach, leveraging data analytics and automated sorting to optimize collection pages for increased revenue and reduced manual effort. It offers advanced sorting based on metrics like revenue, views, and inventory, allowing merchants to strategically position products within collections. While both apps fall under the 'Product display' category, they address fundamentally different needs. Blink primarily targets merchants seeking a simple, hands-off solution to manage out-of-stock visibility. ST: Product & Collection Sort, on the other hand, is designed for merchants who want to actively manage and optimize their collection pages based on performance data and strategic merchandising rules. ST includes out-of-stock handling (moving sold-out items to the bottom or removing them), offering a potentially overlapping, but less focused, functionality compared to Blink's singular purpose.
