Block Redirect Users Ultimate vs Traffic Policefor Shopify (2026)
Block Redirect Users Ultimate and Traffic Police both aim to help Shopify merchants control website traffic based on geolocation, offering features like blocking unwanted visitors and redirecting customers to localized sites. However, they cater to slightly different needs and emphasize different aspects of traffic management. Block Redirect Users Ultimate focuses on providing a smooth, localized shopping experience through simple blocking and redirection based on country or IP address, without requiring theme code changes. Traffic Police, on the other hand, takes a broader approach, emphasizing security and malicious traffic prevention alongside geolocation-based redirection. Traffic Police incorporates additional features like IP logs, blocking at the state/city level, image antitheft, right-click disabling, and GDPR cookie bar implementation. While both apps offer similar geolocation-based redirection capabilities, the primary divergence lies in their secondary features. Block Redirect Users Ultimate prioritizes ease of use and streamlined localization, making it attractive to merchants who primarily want simple geo-blocking and redirection. Traffic Police appeals to merchants who are more concerned about security threats, content protection, and comprehensive traffic analysis. This makes Traffic Police a potentially more robust but also more complex solution, suitable for larger stores or those experiencing significant malicious traffic.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily interested in simple geolocation-based redirection to enhance the customer experience and who value ease of use, Block Redirect Users Ultimate is a suitable choice. Its emphasis on streamlined implementation without theme code changes makes it an attractive option for smaller stores or those with limited technical expertise. Traffic Police, however, is better suited for larger businesses or those facing significant security challenges such as malicious traffic, content theft, and GDPR compliance requirements. Its granular blocking options (city, state), advanced security features, and cookie bar provide a more comprehensive solution, justifying the potential complexity involved.
While Traffic Police has a slightly better rating (5/5 vs 4.5/5), the low number of reviews for both apps suggests that choosing one over the other should be based primarily on the specific feature set and perceived need for enhanced security features. Merchants concerned about content protection, GDPR, and malicious traffic should choose Traffic Police, while those seeking a quick and easy geo-redirection solution should choose Block Redirect Users Ultimate.
