Blockify Checkout Rules Plus vs Buy Button channelfor Shopify (2026)
Blockify Checkout Rules Plus and Buy Button channel, while both operating within the 'Checkout' category on Shopify, cater to vastly different merchant needs. Blockify Checkout Rules Plus focuses on optimizing and customizing the existing Shopify checkout process itself, allowing merchants to create refined rules for B2C and B2B scenarios, reduce friction, prevent fraud, and boost AOV. Its strength lies in its deep integration with the Shopify checkout, leveraging checkout extensibility functions to provide granular control over the user experience. Buy Button channel, on the other hand, is designed to extend sales channels beyond the Shopify store. It enables merchants to create simple, embeddable buttons and checkout links for use on websites, blogs, social media, and emails, providing a quick and easy way for customers to purchase products directly from these external platforms. While Buy Button channel has a higher number of reviews, its significantly lower rating suggests potential usability or satisfaction issues compared to Blockify Checkout Rules Plus. This difference in rating highlights the divergent value propositions of the two apps.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on optimizing their existing Shopify checkout flow, preventing fraud, and increasing Average Order Value (AOV) through customization and strategic rule implementation, Blockify Checkout Rules Plus is the clear winner. Its higher rating suggests greater user satisfaction and its feature set directly addresses key checkout pain points. The use of checkout extensibility implies a greater degree of control and optimization.
However, if the primary goal is to expand sales beyond the Shopify store by embedding purchase options on external websites, blogs, or social media platforms, Buy Button channel offers a simpler, more direct solution, despite its lower rating. Keep in mind that you might need to look into how you would need to solve for checkout customization if you choose Buy Button channel.
