Blockly Fraud Filter vs Grapevine Post Purchase Surveyfor Shopify (2026)
Blockly Fraud Filter and Grapevine Post Purchase Survey are both Shopify apps focused on operations, but they address drastically different needs. Blockly Fraud Filter aims to reduce chargebacks by allowing merchants to create rules that flag or cancel potentially fraudulent orders. It focuses on proactive fraud prevention, giving merchants control over identifying and blocking suspicious activity. Grapevine Post Purchase Survey, on the other hand, focuses on gathering customer feedback through various survey types (post-purchase, NPS, email). It's designed to provide deep customer insights and improve marketing decisions and CX. The key difference lies in their objectives: Blockly protects revenue by preventing fraudulent transactions, while Grapevine aims to increase revenue and improve customer loyalty through understanding customer sentiment and preferences. One focuses on minimizing loss, the other on maximizing growth. Blockly appeals to merchants concerned about fraud, chargebacks, and maintaining a secure online store, while Grapevine is for merchants seeking to understand their customers better and optimize their business based on customer feedback.

Our Verdict
Blockly Fraud Filter is best suited for merchants experiencing a noticeable level of fraudulent activity and high chargeback rates. Its customizable filters offer a proactive approach to minimizing financial losses. However, the very low number of reviews should give merchants pause. Grapevine Post Purchase Survey is more appropriate for merchants focused on understanding their customer base, improving customer experience, and driving sales through data-driven decisions. Its unlimited survey responses and integration capabilities offer significant value for businesses looking to scale their customer insights efforts.
While both apps have potential benefits, Grapevine appears to offer a more robust and well-supported solution given its higher number of reviews and integrations, making it a stronger choice for most Shopify merchants focused on growth and customer satisfaction, assuming the reviews are genuine. Merchants should strongly consider the lack of reviews for Blockly before deciding.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Based on the descriptions, Blockly Fraud Filter appears straightforward with its rule-based system. However, the lack of reviews makes it difficult to assess its true usability. Grapevine Post Purchase Survey's ease of use depends on the complexity of the desired surveys and reporting, but the integration with platforms like Shopify Flow suggests a certain level of user-friendliness.
Which app is more likely to increase revenue?
Grapevine Post Purchase Survey is more directly linked to potential revenue increases by providing insights into customer preferences and allowing for targeted marketing and CX improvements. Blockly Fraud Filter indirectly contributes to revenue by preventing losses from fraudulent orders.
Are these apps mutually exclusive?
No, these apps are not mutually exclusive. A merchant could use both Blockly Fraud Filter to protect against fraud and Grapevine Post Purchase Survey to gather customer feedback and improve their business. They address different aspects of running an online store.
Which app is more scalable?
Grapevine Post Purchase Survey is designed for scalability, offering unlimited survey responses and integrations with analytics platforms. Blockly Fraud Filter's scalability depends on its ability to handle increasing order volumes and effectively filter out fraudulent activity.
What if I am unsure if I have a fraud problem?
If you're unsure about fraud, review your order history for suspicious patterns like unusual shipping addresses, multiple orders from the same IP address with different credit cards, or a sudden surge in orders from new customers. If you identify these patterns, Blockly might be worth exploring. Otherwise, investing in customer insights with Grapevine could yield more immediate and broadly applicable benefits.
