Blockly Fraud Filter vs Report Toaster: Custom Reportsfor Shopify (2026)
Blockly Fraud Filter and Report Toaster: Custom Reports are both Shopify apps in the 'Operations' category, but they serve distinctly different purposes. Blockly Fraud Filter aims to reduce chargebacks by allowing merchants to create rules-based filters that identify and potentially block fraudulent orders. It targets merchants concerned about fraud and chargebacks, especially those migrating from the (presumably now defunct) 'Fraud Filter' app. Report Toaster, on the other hand, is a comprehensive reporting and analytics app that provides real-time data for creating customized reports. Report Toaster boasts a significantly larger user base, indicated by its 194 reviews compared to Blockly's single review. Report Toaster's strength lies in its ability to provide in-depth insights into various aspects of a store's operations through its extensive reporting templates and customization options, as well as the ability to share reports via email, SMS, or Slack. Blockly Fraud Filter focuses solely on fraud prevention and uses a rule-based system, which may be simpler to set up initially for those with straightforward fraud prevention strategies but might lack the sophistication for complex risk assessment scenarios.

Our Verdict
Report Toaster: Custom Reports is the clear choice for merchants seeking comprehensive reporting and analytics capabilities to gain insights into their business performance. Its extensive features, coupled with a substantial number of positive reviews, indicate a mature and well-regarded product. It suits merchants looking for deeper business understanding through customized data analysis.
Blockly Fraud Filter, while having a perfect rating, suffers from a severe lack of reviews. Its niche focus on fraud prevention makes it suitable only for merchants primarily concerned about fraudulent orders and chargebacks, particularly those who are already familiar with the 'Fraud Filter' app and want to migrate their rules. It's a more specialized tool for a specific problem, whereas Report Toaster is a more general business intelligence solution. The lack of reviews for Blockly suggests either a very new app or a very small user base, making Report Toaster the safer and more feature-rich bet in most scenarios.
