Blue Express vs Calcurates: Accurate Shippingfor Shopify (2026)
Blue Express and Calcurates: Accurate Shipping are both Shopify apps focused on shipping rates, but they cater to very different audiences and offer distinct functionalities. Blue Express is tailored for merchants in Chile who want a quick and easy integration with the Blue Express shipping network. Its strengths lie in its Chilean market focus, ease of setup (claiming under 30 minutes), and pay-as-you-go pricing. Calcurates, on the other hand, is designed for merchants who require highly customizable and accurate shipping rate calculations for a global audience. It emphasizes real-time carrier rates, advanced shipping rules, and the inclusion of estimated delivery dates and landed costs. The primary difference lies in the breadth of functionality and geographic focus. Blue Express is specific to the Chilean market and focuses on streamlining shipping with a single carrier. Calcurates aims to provide a comprehensive shipping rate solution integrating with multiple carriers (UPS, USPS, DHL, FedEx, Australia Post, etc.) globally and offering features like table rates, pallet rates, dimensional shipping, and duty/tax calculations. The vastly different number of reviews and average rating suggest that Calcurates may have a larger user base and generally more positive user experience, but the low number of Blue Express reviews could also indicate a newer app.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily selling within Chile and looking for a quick and straightforward integration with the Blue Express network, Blue Express might be a suitable option, especially if ease of setup is a priority. However, the significantly lower rating and limited number of reviews should be carefully considered. For merchants operating internationally or requiring highly customizable shipping rate calculations with multiple carrier options, Calcurates: Accurate Shipping is the clear choice. While it may involve a more complex setup process, its robust feature set and strong user reviews suggest it's a more reliable and powerful solution for complex shipping needs. The poor rating and low review count of Blue Express make it difficult to recommend without further investigation into the causes behind the rating.
