Bonify Custom Fields vs Metafields Managerfor Shopify (2026)
Bonify Custom Fields and Metafields Manager are both Shopify apps designed to empower merchants to leverage metafields for enhanced store customization. However, they cater to slightly different needs and exhibit distinct strengths. Bonify Custom Fields positions itself as the 'original metafield manager' and emphasizes integration with eBay, offering features like autogenerated eBay item-specific fields and category-aware validation. This points to a target audience of merchants heavily involved in multi-channel selling, particularly through eBay, and those needing complex metafield structures. Metafields Manager, on the other hand, centers on ease of use, providing a streamlined dashboard and robust CSV import/export tools. It seems to cater to merchants prioritizing straightforward bulk management and control of their metafield data across various Shopify resources.

Our Verdict
For merchants heavily involved in selling on eBay and requiring automated integration of item-specific fields, Bonify Custom Fields is the clear choice. Its ability to handle complex metafield structures and custom widgets offers greater customization potential, albeit potentially requiring more technical expertise. Metafields Manager is better suited for merchants prioritizing ease of use, needing to quickly manage metafields in bulk across various Shopify entities. The option to store data on AWS S3 can also be a significant advantage for those with specific data security or portability requirements. If you're not selling on eBay and just want a simple, efficient way to manage metafields, Metafields Manager is likely the better option.
