Our Verdict
Choosing between Bonjoro and Persistent Cart depends heavily on the specific business goals and resources of the Shopify merchant. Bonjoro is best suited for businesses that prioritize building strong customer relationships through personalized interaction and have the bandwidth to create engaging video content. It's ideal for brands that value a high-touch approach to customer retention. However, the low number of reviews (7) in 2026 should warrant some extra caution.
Persistent Cart, on the other hand, is a more universal solution that benefits almost any e-commerce store. By automatically recovering shopping carts across devices, it directly addresses a major cause of lost sales and cart abandonment. Its easy setup and background operation make it a great choice for merchants seeking a simple, effective way to boost conversions and AOV without requiring significant ongoing effort. If a merchant has the resources, they may consider using *both* solutions. Bonjoro strengthens the relationship with *new* customers. Persistent Cart improves the experience for *all* customers by ensuring they can seamlessly pick up where they left off.
