Bonjoro: Thank You Videos vs Shoppy ‑ Mobile App Builderfor Shopify (2026)
Bonjoro: Thank You Videos and Shoppy - Mobile App Builder both aim to boost customer loyalty, but they do so through radically different approaches. Bonjoro focuses on personalized video communication, offering merchants the ability to send thank-you videos to customers based on specific criteria like product SKU or order value. This aims to create a personal connection and increase repeat sales through enhanced customer relationships. It is a targeted, engagement-focused app. Shoppy, on the other hand, provides a mobile app building platform, allowing merchants to create a dedicated mobile app for their store. This centers around improved user experience and direct engagement via push notifications, attempting to foster customer loyalty through convenience and brand presence. The primary difference lies in the medium: personal video vs. mobile app. Bonjoro integrates directly with email inboxes, while Shoppy requires customers to download and use a separate mobile app. Bonjoro highlights ease of scalability using its mobile apps for recording and automated workflows with filtering. Shoppy focuses on increased sales through optimized UX and direct customer engagement through push notifications. While both apps belong to the 'Customer Loyalty' category, they cater to different merchant needs and customer preferences. Bonjoro targets merchants who value personalized interactions, whereas Shoppy is for those prioritizing a mobile-first shopping experience.

Our Verdict
The choice between Bonjoro and Shoppy depends on a merchant's priorities. If the goal is to build deeper, more personal relationships with customers through personalized video messages, Bonjoro is the better choice. Its automation capabilities and easy mobile recording make it scalable. However, for merchants looking to provide a modern, mobile-optimized shopping experience with features like push notifications and faster checkout, Shoppy offers a comprehensive solution. Shoppy seems more suited for brands with a strong mobile presence and those wanting to improve brand awareness via mobile.
Given the higher number of reviews despite the perfect rating, Shoppy appears to be the more established app in the market as of 2026. It may be the better option for merchants prioritizing adoption and reliability over niche personalization. In summary, Bonjoro wins out for personalized engagement and Shoppy for comprehensive mobile app experience.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
While both have a perfect rating, Bonjoro likely has a simpler initial setup, focusing on integrating with existing Shopify data. Shoppy, however, involves a more complex app building process, potentially requiring design and development knowledge.
Which app offers a better return on investment (ROI)?
ROI depends heavily on customer response. Bonjoro's videos might generate higher customer loyalty per interaction, but Shoppy's mobile app has the potential for higher overall engagement volume through push notifications and app usage. Consider your target audience's preference for either personal interactions or mobile convenience.
Which app is more scalable for a growing business?
Bonjoro highlights scalability via mobile video recording and customer filtering, but might become challenging as order volumes explode. Shoppy's mobile app is inherently scalable to accommodate a large customer base, although maintaining and updating it requires ongoing effort and investment. Consider the effort required on merchant end.
How do push notifications from Shoppy compare to Bonjoro's email integrations?
Shoppy's push notifications are more immediate and direct, reaching customers instantly on their phones. Bonjoro's emails might have a lower open rate but can deliver a more personal and thoughtful message in the form of the thank-you video. Push notifications might be perceived as less personal, yet more timely than emails. Different message types work well on different channels.
Does either app offer analytics to track performance?
The descriptions of both apps don't explicitly mention analytics. However, it's highly probable that both offer some level of analytics to track video views/open rates (Bonjoro) and app downloads/usage (Shoppy). Merchants should confirm this with the app providers.
