Bony: Checkout Rules & COD vs EZ Checkout Controller | Rulesfor Shopify (2026)
Both Bony: Checkout Rules & COD and EZ Checkout Controller | Rules aim to give Shopify merchants greater control over their checkout process in 2026. They both address common needs like restricting payment and shipping methods based on various criteria. Bony focuses on checkout validation and fraud prevention, specifically around Cash on Delivery (COD) orders, and provides rules for payments and shipping based on different conditions. EZ Checkout Controller, on the other hand, positions itself as an all-in-one solution for checkout customization, including order limits, IP/country blocking, and requiring agreement to Terms and Conditions. Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants primarily concerned with preventing COD fraud, streamlining payment and shipping methods based on product or region, and requiring robust checkout validation, Bony: Checkout Rules & COD is likely the better choice. Its features are directly tailored to these scenarios.
However, if a merchant needs a more comprehensive solution that includes order limits (quantity or amount), IP/country blocking for traffic management, and the addition of a Terms and Conditions checkbox, then EZ Checkout Controller | Rules provides a broader set of tools. The lower review count for EZ Checkout Controller should also be considered.
