Bony: Checkout Rules & COD vs SupaElements: Custom Checkoutfor Shopify (2026)
Bony: Checkout Rules & COD and SupaElements: Custom Checkout both aim to enhance the Shopify checkout experience, but they tackle different aspects. Bony focuses on providing merchants with granular control over payment and shipping methods, alongside fraud prevention and order validation rules. Its strength lies in its ability to customize the checkout flow based on conditions like product, region, customer, and order value. This makes it ideal for merchants seeking to optimize conversions by tailoring the checkout process and minimizing risks associated with COD orders and fraudulent transactions. On the other hand, SupaElements centers on visual customization and enhanced branding throughout the checkout, order status, and thank you pages. It enables merchants to incorporate cross-selling, upselling, and branding elements. SupaElements' key strength is its ability to create a seamless and on-brand post-purchase experience, fostering customer loyalty. This makes it a good choice for merchants prioritizing visual branding, personalized customer journeys, and increased average order value through cross-selling and upselling. The 'SupaActions' feature suggests it also aims for ease of implementation, providing pre-set automations. While both apps address checkout customization, Bony is operationally focused (rules and restrictions), while SupaElements is experience-focused (visual and strategic).

Our Verdict
For merchants struggling with fraudulent COD orders, needing precise control over payment options based on various conditions, and prioritizing a secure and reliable checkout experience, Bony: Checkout Rules & COD is the stronger choice. Its focus on operational control and fraud prevention directly addresses these challenges. On the other hand, if a merchant's primary focus is on visually enhancing the checkout experience, promoting their brand throughout the customer journey, and leveraging cross-selling and upselling opportunities, SupaElements: Custom Checkout is the better option. It prioritizes aesthetics and customer engagement, making it ideal for brands that value a personalized and engaging post-purchase experience. The lower review count for SupaElements suggests it might be a newer app or less widely adopted, which could factor into the decision for some merchants.
