Bounce Back Redirector vs Geolocation & Markets—Selectyfor Shopify (2026)
Bounce Back Redirector and Geolocation & Markets—Selecty are two Shopify apps operating in distinct areas, though both tangentially relate to controlling user behavior. Bounce Back Redirector aims to 'hijack' the browser's back button to redirect users to specific pages within a single store, focusing on potentially boosting revenue and SEO metrics by retaining leaving visitors. This app targets merchants focused on immediate bounce rate reduction and exploring possibly disruptive user experience strategies. In contrast, Geolocation & Markets—Selecty centers on internationalization and providing localized experiences for global shoppers through currency, language, and market-specific content, primarily targeting businesses expanding or already operating across multiple geographic markets.

Our Verdict
Geolocation & Markets—Selecty appears significantly more promising due to its overwhelmingly positive reviews and focus on a proven strategy: providing a better, localized customer experience. It suits merchants serious about expanding internationally and managing multiple markets. Bounce Back Redirector, on the other hand, carries significant risk. Its poor rating and the potentially disruptive nature of hijacking the back button make it difficult to recommend, unless a merchant is willing to experiment and understands the potential negative impact on user experience. It's more of a niche tool for very specific, aggressive marketing strategies, and even then, should be thoroughly tested.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on review volume and rating, Geolocation & Markets—Selecty likely offers a smoother setup and user experience. Bounce Back Redirector's single, negative review suggests potential usability issues.
Which app is better for improving my store's SEO?
Geolocation & Markets—Selecty indirectly improves SEO by improving user experience for international customers, which can lead to higher engagement and lower bounce rates in specific markets. Bounce Back Redirector *claims* to improve SEO, but manipulating user behavior can be risky and could potentially harm your SEO if users find it annoying.
Which app is more likely to increase sales?
Geolocation & Markets—Selecty is directly aimed at increasing international sales by presenting the right currency, language, and products to customers in different regions. Bounce Back Redirector *attempts* to increase sales by capturing abandoning visitors, but its effectiveness is highly questionable.
Which app offers better customer support?
It's difficult to determine support quality from the limited data, but a higher volume of positive reviews (Geolocation & Markets—Selecty) often correlates with better support.
Are these apps mutually exclusive? Can I use both?
While theoretically you could use both, it's highly inadvisable. Bounce Back Redirector's potentially disruptive behavior could negate the positive user experience that Geolocation & Markets—Selecty is trying to create for international visitors.
