Brightlist vs Notifications by Modd Appsfor Shopify (2026)
Brightlist and Notifications by Modd Apps both aim to enhance staff notifications within Shopify. However, their current standing presents a stark contrast. Brightlist is a relatively unknown app with no reviews, indicating a lack of user adoption or potentially a very new release. Notifications by Modd Apps, on the other hand, boasts a perfect 5/5 rating from 35 reviews and positions itself as a comprehensive solution for automating notifications and updates based on complex store events. Notifications by Modd Apps goes far beyond basic notifications. It allows merchants to send custom emails and files to various stakeholders (staff, suppliers, customers) based on specific conditions. Furthermore, it enables automatic updates to store objects like adding tags to customers or orders based on pre-defined logic. This level of customization, powered by extensive Liquid support, makes it suitable for merchants seeking a high degree of automation and control over their internal and external communications. The promise of responsive support during the trial period adds to its appeal for users requiring assistance with implementation.

Our Verdict
Based on the available information, Notifications by Modd Apps appears to be the superior choice for merchants seeking a robust and customizable solution for staff notifications and automated store updates. Its positive reviews and comprehensive feature set, including advanced email customization and automated actions, make it suitable for businesses requiring a high degree of control and flexibility. However, its complexity might require some technical expertise.
Brightlist, with its lack of reviews and unknown feature set, presents a riskier option. While it might potentially offer a simpler solution, there is insufficient data to determine its value proposition or suitability for any specific use case. Until Brightlist gains traction and provides more information, Notifications by Modd Apps is the recommended choice, especially for merchants comfortable with Liquid and seeking advanced automation capabilities.
