Brightpearl by Sage and Stocky offer inventory management solutions for Shopify merchants, but cater to different segments. Brightpearl, with a 4.7-star rating and 43 reviews, aims for a potentially broader market with a generally higher level of satisfaction. Stocky, despite a lower 2.8-star rating with significantly more reviews (200), is explicitly designed for brick-and-mortar retailers using Shopify POS Pro. It emphasizes features directly integrating with POS workflows. The substantial difference in ratings suggests variations in user experience and functionality effectiveness. The description for Stocky focuses on optimizing inventory decisions to maximize profits while balancing the risks of stockouts and overstocking. Stocky provides specific tools for purchase order management, stocktakes, and inventory reporting to facilitate data-driven decision-making. Stocky's description indicates a strong focus on in-store operations, highlighting receiving inventory in Shopify POS and barcode scanning. Our Verdict
Stocky is the clear choice for brick-and-mortar retailers already heavily invested in Shopify POS Pro. Its deep integration with the POS system and features like barcode scanning for receiving inventory in-store make it a tailored solution for their needs. However, the significantly lower rating should give pause and warrant further investigation into the specific complaints driving that score. Potential users should trial it extensively.
For merchants without a reliance on Shopify POS Pro, or those primarily focused on online sales, Brightpearl by Sage is a better starting point. While limited information is available about Brightpearl, a higher rating indicates a greater level of overall satisfaction. Without knowing more about Brightpearl's specific features, it is difficult to say for sure if it will meet the need of a Shopify merchant.
