B&S ‑ Add Custom Code vs Magepow Infinite Scrollfor Shopify (2026)
B&S ‑ Add Custom Code and Magepow Infinite Scroll address completely different needs for Shopify merchants. B&S ‑ Add Custom Code is a general-purpose tool designed for merchants seeking to inject custom code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid) into their store without direct coding expertise. Its main value proposition is flexibility in modifying store functionality and integrating third-party services like Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel. Conversely, Magepow Infinite Scroll focuses on a specific user experience enhancement: improving product browsing on collection pages through infinite scrolling. It aims to increase customer engagement and reduce friction by eliminating pagination. The key distinction lies in their target audience and use cases. B&S targets merchants needing granular control over their store's code and integrations, irrespective of industry or product type. It is valuable for those who want to add custom functionality, tracking, or design elements. Magepow, however, is best suited for merchants with large product catalogs who want to create a more seamless and engaging shopping experience on their collection pages, thereby increasing product visibility and potential sales. The two apps share the 'Storefronts - Other' category, but fulfill very distinct requirements.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing to add custom tracking scripts, integrate specific third-party services, or deeply customize their store's design beyond what the Shopify theme editor allows, B&S ‑ Add Custom Code might seem appealing. However, the lack of reviews and zero rating should raise red flags, warranting extreme caution. Conversely, Magepow Infinite Scroll is the clear choice for merchants prioritizing an improved user experience on their collection pages. The positive rating and existing reviews suggest a more reliable and functional app. If you have a large catalog and want to encourage product discovery, Magepow provides a targeted solution that B&S simply doesn't address. Unless your business goals demand custom code injection *and* you are willing to test an unproven app, Magepow is the better-supported and more focused investment.
Common Questions
Can B&S ‑ Add Custom Code be used to implement infinite scrolling?
Potentially, yes. You *could* theoretically use B&S ‑ Add Custom Code to implement infinite scrolling using custom JavaScript. However, this requires significantly more technical skill and development effort compared to using Magepow Infinite Scroll, which is purpose-built for this functionality.
Which app is better for improving SEO?
B&S ‑ Add Custom Code *could* indirectly impact SEO by allowing you to add analytics tracking or implement structured data. However, Magepow Infinite Scroll can potentially improve SEO by improving page load speed compared to pagination (depending on the exact implementation) and improving user engagement, which are positive signals for search engines.
Is it possible to use both apps on the same Shopify store?
Yes, it's technically possible since they address different functionalities. However, ensure that the custom code added by B&S ‑ Add Custom Code does not conflict with Magepow Infinite Scroll's behavior or impact the store's overall performance. Thorough testing is crucial.
Which app is easier to install and configure?
Magepow Infinite Scroll is likely easier to install and configure due to its focus on a single, specific feature and the claim that customization is possible without coding. B&S ‑ Add Custom Code requires you to find or write the actual code and place it in the appropriate area, so it depends greatly on your skills in those areas.
Does either app offer customer support?
The provided descriptions don't explicitly mention customer support for either app. However, the existence of reviews for Magepow Infinite Scroll suggests a more established app, which may also imply better customer support, though it's not guaranteed.
