B&S ‑ Spy Protect & IP blocker vs miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSOfor Shopify (2026)
B&S ‑ Spy Protect & IP blocker and miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO are both Shopify apps categorized under 'Security - Other,' but they address vastly different security needs. B&S aims to protect a store's content from theft and malicious access by disabling right-click functionality, blocking spy extensions, disabling developer tools, and restricting access from specific countries or IP addresses. It positions itself as a tool for combating information theft and maintaining uniqueness of content, primarily focusing on preventing content scraping and unauthorized access to the store's backend. miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO, on the other hand, focuses on streamlining user authentication and access management. It enables Single Sign-On (SSO) using various identity providers (IdPs) like Azure/Entra ID, Okta, and others, simplifying the login process for both B2C and B2B stores. Its key features include synchronizing user attributes from the IdP, offering flexible login options (Corporate SSO, OTP, etc.), and supporting SSO integration for legacy accounts. This makes it ideal for stores wanting to improve user experience and manage user access across multiple platforms and applications.

Our Verdict
The choice between these two apps depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant is primarily concerned about protecting their store's content from theft, preventing scraping, and restricting access based on location or IP address, then B&S ‑ Spy Protect & IP blocker might seem appealing *in theory*. However, given the lack of reviews and a zero rating, merchants should proceed with extreme caution and explore thoroughly other solutions first, as there's no evidence that this app works as advertised and offers value.
If a merchant is focused on streamlining user authentication, improving the login experience for customers (especially in B2B scenarios), and managing user access across multiple platforms, then miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO is the clear choice. Its high rating and numerous positive reviews suggest that it effectively addresses the challenges of user authentication and access management, making it a valuable tool for businesses with complex user management requirements. The zero rating of the other app makes this a very obvious and clear choice.
