BSS B2B & Wholesale Solution vs Faire: Sell Wholesalefor Shopify (2026)
BSS B2B & Wholesale Solution and Faire: Sell Wholesale are both Shopify apps aimed at facilitating wholesale operations, but they cater to fundamentally different approaches. BSS focuses on building and managing a *private* B2B wholesale channel directly within your Shopify store, offering robust tools for custom pricing, customer segmentation, and internal order management. It's designed for merchants who want complete control over their wholesale relationships and pricing strategies. Faire, on the other hand, provides access to an *existing* global marketplace of independent retailers, allowing you to sell wholesale through their platform. It emphasizes rapid expansion and market reach. The primary distinction lies in ownership and control. BSS empowers merchants to cultivate their own B2B relationships and brand experience, while Faire leverages its established network to connect brands with retailers quickly. BSS is suited for businesses already engaged in wholesale or planning to build a direct B2B channel, while Faire is ideal for brands seeking immediate access to a broader wholesale market, even if it means less control over individual customer relationships and pricing to some degree.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing complete control over their wholesale operations, custom pricing strategies, and a tailored B2B customer experience, BSS B2B & Wholesale Solution is the superior choice. It offers the granular control needed to manage complex B2B relationships and pricing structures. However, this control comes with the responsibility of acquiring and managing wholesale customers directly.
Conversely, if the primary goal is rapid expansion into the wholesale market and access to a large network of independent retailers with minimal upfront effort, Faire: Sell Wholesale is the more effective option. While it may offer less control over pricing and customer relationships, its established marketplace provides immediate access to a global audience and simplifies the process of connecting with wholesale buyers.
Common Questions

Which app is easier to set up and start selling?
Faire: Sell Wholesale is generally easier to set up and begin selling because it leverages an existing marketplace. BSS requires more configuration to establish a B2B registration process and pricing rules.
Which app is better for international wholesale?
Faire: Sell Wholesale has a built-in advantage for international wholesale due to its established global network of retailers. While BSS can support international sales, the merchant is responsible for managing logistics and compliance.
Which app is more suitable for a brand new brand wanting to enter wholesale?
Faire is better for new brands because it offers immediate access to a large retailer base. This jumpstarts wholesale sales without the need for significant marketing investment.
How do the apps handle B2B customer registration?
BSS B2B & Wholesale Solution provides flexible registration forms with approval workflows and auto-tagging to qualify business buyers. Faire uses its own retailer vetting process, so the supplier generally doesn't handle individual registration.
