BST‑Frequently Bought Together vs H‑Lab: Collection's Cross Sellfor Shopify (2026)
BST‑Frequently Bought Together and H‑Lab: Collection's Cross Sell are both Shopify apps designed to increase order value through cross-selling, but they differ significantly in their approach and, based on available data, their effectiveness. BST‑Frequently Bought Together leverages AI to recommend frequently bought together products based on consumer behavior, mimicking Amazon's successful cross-selling strategies. Its focus is on ease of use and seamless integration with Shopify stores, targeting merchants who want a set-and-forget solution to automatically boost sales. It emphasizes design flexibility and includes advanced analytics to track performance. H-Lab, on the other hand, centers on manual collection-based cross-selling, giving merchants precise control over which products are offered together. H-Lab's primary strength lies in its manual control over cross-selling, allowing merchants to curate specific pairings for individual collections. However, its extremely low rating and lack of reviews suggest potential issues with user experience or app functionality. BST-Frequently Bought Together, with its strong rating and significant number of reviews, is positioned as a more reliable and user-friendly solution. It's designed for a broader range of merchants who value automation, data-driven recommendations, and a well-supported, aesthetically pleasing cross-selling experience.

Our Verdict
For the vast majority of Shopify merchants in 2026, BST‑Frequently Bought Together is the far superior choice. Its AI-powered recommendations, coupled with a high rating and numerous reviews, suggest a well-functioning and effective app. It is ideal for merchants seeking a seamless and automated cross-selling solution.
H‑Lab: Collection's Cross Sell might be suitable only for merchants with highly specific cross-selling strategies tied to individual collections and the technical expertise (or willingness) to troubleshoot potential issues. However, the 1-star rating and single review raise serious concerns about its reliability and functionality, making it difficult to recommend without significant improvements and validation.
