Buy Button channel vs Sellerboard Profit Analyticsfor Shopify (2026)
Buy Button channel and Sellerboard Profit Analytics are two Shopify apps targeting very different needs. Buy Button channel focuses on enabling merchants to sell products directly from external websites and blogs. It provides tools to create customizable 'Buy Buttons' and quick checkout links for wider product promotion. This caters to merchants looking to expand their sales channels beyond the Shopify storefront itself. Sellerboard Profit Analytics, on the other hand, concentrates on providing detailed profit analytics, enabling merchants to deeply understand their business's financial performance. It offers real-time dashboards, COGS tracking, and advertising efficiency analysis. The fundamental difference lies in their core functionalities: Buy Button channel boosts sales by enabling off-site purchasing, while Sellerboard Profit Analytics enhances profitability by providing actionable financial insights. Buy Button's strength is in ease of embedding checkout options anywhere, catering to those wanting to extend their shop outside the Shopify domain. Sellerboard’s strength is in detailed financial analytics, giving merchants complete visibility into the profitability of their products, channels, and marketing efforts. Their shared 'Operations' and 'Analytics' categories highlight that both are essential for managing a successful Shopify store, but focusing on fundamentally different aspects.

Our Verdict
The choice between Buy Button channel and Sellerboard Profit Analytics depends heavily on a merchant's priorities. If a merchant's primary goal is to increase sales by making products available on external platforms like blogs and websites, then Buy Button channel is the clear choice. The ability to create customized buy buttons and quick checkout links offers a straightforward way to integrate e-commerce into content and social media.
However, if a merchant is primarily focused on understanding and improving their business's financial health, Sellerboard Profit Analytics is the superior option. While Buy Button boosts sales potential, Sellerboard helps ensure those sales are actually profitable.
