BuyerCheck vs Yofifor Shopify (2026)
BuyerCheck and Yofi both target fraud prevention for Shopify merchants in 2026, but focus on different types of fraud. BuyerCheck concentrates on reducing losses from failed cash-on-delivery (COD) orders, using AI to predict risky buyers at the checkout stage. It offers features like auto-disabling COD and providing risk scores for COD orders. Yofi, on the other hand, aims to prevent return fraud and policy abuse. It employs AI detection and telemetry to identify fraudulent customer behaviors related to returns, such as fake tracking or 'Did Not Arrive' claims. Yofi's strength lies in empowering customer experience reps with risk scores and automating return policies. The apps also differ significantly in their current user reception. BuyerCheck currently has no ratings or reviews, suggesting it is a newer or less established app. In contrast, Yofi has a perfect 5/5 rating based on 3 reviews, indicating positive initial user experiences, albeit with a very small sample size. This disparity in feedback makes it challenging to definitively compare their usability and effectiveness based solely on user opinions. Therefore, merchants must carefully consider the specific type of fraud they are experiencing most acutely and weigh the potential benefits of each app accordingly, given the limited available data.

Our Verdict
Given the current state of both apps, the best choice depends heavily on the specific fraud issue a merchant faces. If a merchant is primarily struggling with losses from failed COD orders, BuyerCheck is the more direct solution, but the lack of ratings/reviews makes it a riskier choice. On the other hand, if return fraud is a significant pain point, Yofi's AI-powered detection and focus on CX rep empowerment make it a promising option, especially considering its perfect rating (though based on a small number of reviews).
However, a 0/5 rating with zero reviews can be a red flag. It's hard to recommend BuyerCheck at this stage. Yofi, even with its small number of reviews, has a perfect score, and targets a different type of fraud. Therefore, a merchant facing return fraud should definitely consider Yofi, while a COD-heavy merchant should carefully evaluate BuyerCheck and potentially wait for reviews before committing.
