BWS Content Scheduler vs UR: Page Background Colorfor Shopify (2026)
BWS Content Scheduler and UR: Page Background Color, while both categorized under 'Content - Other' in the Shopify App Store, address significantly different needs and target distinct merchant profiles. BWS Content Scheduler is positioned as a comprehensive content update automation tool, allowing merchants to schedule changes to various on-site elements like banners, announcements, products, and blog posts without coding. It focuses on maximizing sales efforts through scheduled 'Events' and simplifying complex content management tasks. Its strength lies in its ability to automate broad changes across a store, making it suitable for managing sales events or seasonal updates. The app's 5/5 rating, albeit based on only 10 reviews, suggests initial user satisfaction. In contrast, UR: Page Background Color provides a highly specific solution: customizing the background color of store pages. It aims to enhance engagement and sales by allowing merchants to quickly change page backgrounds without coding, enabling consistent branding or highlighting promotions. Its key strength is its simplicity and ease of use for targeted visual adjustments. However, it currently has no reviews, which may raise concerns about its stability and effectiveness. The two apps cater to vastly different needs; one automates broad content updates, and the other focuses on a single, specific design element.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing a comprehensive solution for automating on-site content updates, especially during sales events or seasonal promotions, BWS Content Scheduler appears to be the stronger choice. Its broader feature set and positive (although limited) review history suggest a more robust and useful tool. However, users should be aware that the small sample size for reviews might not be fully indicative of the app's overall performance.
UR: Page Background Color, on the other hand, is suitable for merchants who specifically need to quickly and easily customize the background color of their store pages. Its focus on a single, specific task makes it potentially useful for simple design adjustments or highlighting specific promotions. However, the lack of reviews and a narrow feature set makes it a riskier choice compared to BWS Content Scheduler.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for beginners?
Both apps claim to be easy to use and require no coding. However, UR: Page Background Color likely has a shallower learning curve due to its more focused functionality. BWS Content Scheduler, while still easy to use, involves more steps due to the greater variety of content it manages.
Which app is better for running promotions?
BWS Content Scheduler is likely better for running promotions that involve multiple changes across the store, such as updating banners, highlighting specific products, and making announcements. UR: Page Background Color can complement this by visually highlighting promotion pages, but it is not a complete solution for running promotions.
Which app offers more customization options?
BWS Content Scheduler offers more customization options in terms of the types of content that can be updated and scheduled. UR: Page Background Color is limited to background color selection, therefore BWS Content Scheduler is more flexible.
Which app is the safer choice given the limited review data?
BWS Content Scheduler, despite having only 10 reviews, has a perfect rating, suggesting a positive initial user experience. The lack of reviews for UR: Page Background Color makes it difficult to assess its reliability and performance, making it a riskier choice.
Are these apps compatible with all Shopify themes?
Neither app explicitly states compatibility with all Shopify themes in their descriptions. It's recommended to check the app documentation or contact the developers to confirm compatibility with your specific theme before installing either app.
