Byte Lookbook & Shop The Look vs Pixelz: Photo Retouchingfor Shopify (2026)
Byte Lookbook & Shop The Look and Pixelz: Photo Retouching are both Shopify apps focused on improving the visual appeal of an online store, but they cater to very different needs. Byte Lookbook focuses on creating interactive and shoppable experiences using lookbooks and image hotspots to increase average order value (AOV) through product bundling and cross-selling. It positions itself as a no-code solution for merchants who want to improve their on-site merchandising and product discovery through visually appealing and easily navigable content. Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with improving the overall visual quality and professionalism of their product imagery, particularly those launching new products or refreshing their catalog, Pixelz: Photo Retouching is the clear choice. Its focus on high-quality retouching and fast turnaround times ensures that products are presented in the best possible light. Byte Lookbook & Shop The Look is better suited for merchants who already have high-quality product images and want to enhance the shopping experience through visually engaging lookbooks and bundled product offerings. If your goal is to drive AOV through upselling and cross-selling, Byte Lookbook is the more strategic choice.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for a non-technical merchant?
Byte Lookbook explicitly mentions "no code required," suggesting a user-friendly interface for building lookbooks. Pixelz likely has a straightforward interface for uploading and managing image retouching requests, but no specific mention is available.
Which app is more likely to increase AOV?
Byte Lookbook is specifically designed to increase AOV through features like shoppable lookbooks, image hotspots, and product bundling. Pixelz focuses on image quality, which can indirectly impact sales, but doesn't offer direct AOV boosting features.
Which app requires professional photography skills?
Pixelz works with existing images, so professional photography is beneficial but not mandatory to use the app. Byte Lookbook benefits from high-quality source images, but those could be professional or DIY.
Which app offers a money-back guarantee?
Pixelz offers a quality guarantee with a refund if you're not satisfied with the images. Byte Lookbook does not mention a money-back guarantee, though they do tout 24/7 support.
Are both apps mobile-optimized?
Byte Lookbook claims to be optimised for mobile. Pixelz doesn't explicitly say if their service is mobile optimized, but it is fair to assume in 2026 that is the case.
