Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants vs Product Options ‑ Pasilobusfor Shopify (2026)
Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants and Product Options ‑ Pasilobus target very different aspects of product variant management on Shopify. Camouflage focuses solely on improving the customer experience related to sold-out variants by allowing merchants to hide, disable, or style them based on inventory levels, customer attributes, or geographical location. This aims to reduce customer frustration and improve the overall shopping experience. Its key strength is simplicity and a targeted solution for a common problem. Product Options - Pasilobus, on the other hand, is designed for merchants who need highly customizable product options beyond standard variants. It provides tools to add unlimited custom fields like text inputs, dropdowns, and file uploads, enabling personalized products and complex configurations. A major strength is its ability to add extra fees for custom options, opening up new revenue streams. While Camouflage focuses on optimizing existing product listings, Pasilobus helps create completely unique product experiences.

Our Verdict
If your primary goal is to streamline the customer journey by managing out-of-stock products and preventing frustration, Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants is the clear choice. Its high rating and numerous positive reviews indicate a reliable solution for this specific problem. It's well-suited for stores with a high turnover of inventory or those selling products with numerous variants.
However, if you need to offer highly customized products with personalized options such as text engraving, unique color choices, or file uploads, Product Options - Pasilobus is the app to consider. While it currently lacks reviews, its feature set directly addresses the needs of merchants selling customizable items. You should be prepared to potentially handle more complex setups and testing to ensure a smooth customer experience, and be one of the first merchants to provide feedback.
