Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants vs Sized Size Charts & Size Guidefor Shopify (2026)
Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants and Sized Size Charts & Size Guide address different needs within the Shopify ecosystem, though they both operate within the 'Custom products' and 'Product variants' categories. Camouflage aims to improve the customer experience by managing the visibility of product variants based on inventory or other conditions. Its strength lies in its ability to customize how sold-out or unavailable variants are displayed (hidden, disabled, strikethrough, or styled) based on rules, making it ideal for stores with large inventories or frequent stock fluctuations. It targets merchants who prioritize a seamless shopping experience and want to avoid customer frustration from selecting unavailable items. In contrast, Sized Size Charts & Size Guide focuses on helping customers find the right product size, particularly for apparel and footwear. Its primary function is to create and display customizable size charts, aiming to reduce returns and increase customer satisfaction. While also customizable, it focuses on the presentation of size and fit information. Our Verdict
Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants is better suited for merchants primarily concerned with managing product availability and preventing customer frustration related to out-of-stock items. The app's strength lies in its rules-based system for hiding or modifying the appearance of unavailable variants, offering granular control. A store with many products and rapidly changing inventory would benefit the most.
Sized Size Charts & Size Guide, on the other hand, is the clear choice for merchants selling products where sizing is a critical purchasing factor, such as apparel and footwear. While it has a lower rating and fewer reviews, its specific focus on size charts directly addresses the challenges of online clothing sales, reducing returns and improving customer satisfaction in that particular niche. For a clothing store, Sized is significantly more impactful.
