Camweara Virtual Try On vs Metadome Virtual Try‑Onfor Shopify (2026)
Camweara Virtual Try On and Metadome Virtual Try-On both aim to enhance the shopping experience using Augmented Reality (AR) on Shopify stores. However, they differ significantly in their execution and target audience. Camweara positions itself as a versatile AR solution supporting a wide array of product categories, from jewelry and eyewear to clothing and wigs. This positions it well for stores that sell a variety of AR-suitable items. In contrast, Metadome Virtual Try-On focuses specifically on beauty products, offering features tailored to cosmetics, such as shade matching and the ability to create personalized looks. The most striking difference lies in user feedback. Camweara boasts a perfect 5/5 rating based on 43 reviews, suggesting high user satisfaction. Metadome, on the other hand, suffers from a 1/5 rating with only 2 reviews, indicating significant issues or unmet expectations. This difference in user satisfaction is a critical factor to consider. Camweara also highlights its compatibility across multiple devices (Android, iOS, and Windows), suggesting a broader reach. Both emphasize increased conversions and reduced returns, which are the core value propositions of virtual try-on apps.

Our Verdict
Based on available information, Camweara Virtual Try On appears to be the stronger choice for most merchants. Its high rating and significant review count suggest a reliable and well-received app. The broader product category support makes it suitable for stores offering a diverse range of products where AR try-on is beneficial. The device compatibility also provides a larger reach.
Metadome Virtual Try-On, while focused on the beauty sector, suffers from extremely poor user feedback. Unless significant improvements and a rebuilding of trust occur, it's difficult to recommend. A merchant should *only* consider Metadome if they have a beauty product line and the developers can demonstrate substantial improvements, confirmed by more positive reviews. Otherwise, Camweara is the safer and more versatile bet, even for beauty products, as it still includes general functionality, image editing, and video options which may prove useful for cosmetic products.
