Canva Connect vs Filey ‑ Files Backup & Exportfor Shopify (2026)
Canva Connect and Filey ‑ Files Backup & Export, while both boasting a 4.9/5 rating, cater to drastically different needs within the Shopify ecosystem. Canva Connect is positioned as a design workflow enhancer, bridging the gap between Shopify product media and the popular Canva design platform. It focuses on enabling merchants to easily create marketing materials by leveraging their existing product imagery and videos directly within Canva, and conversely, embedding Canva designs into their Shopify store. Filey, on the other hand, is a data management tool, prioritizing the backup, export, and import of store files, particularly those housed in the "Content -> Files" section of Shopify. Its core value proposition lies in streamlining the process of migrating or duplicating store assets, making it easier to switch themes or transfer data between Shopify instances. While both fall under the "Selling online" and "Store data importer" categories, their practical applications and target audiences diverge significantly. Canva Connect is geared toward marketers and designers, while Filey serves a more technical audience focused on store administration and data migration.
